What information does a safety data sheet (SDS) provide?

Only hazards information

Hazards, first aid, PPE, storage, handling, and spill procedures

A safety data sheet is meant to communicate practical, safety-focused information about a chemical so people can work with it safely. It covers what hazards the chemical presents, what to do if exposure occurs (first aid), what protective equipment is needed (PPE), how to store and handle it properly, and how to respond to spills or releases. It’s not about how much the chemical costs or a history of regulatory compliance. For example, if a spill happens, the SDS provides containment and cleanup steps; if someone inhales fumes, it gives first aid steps; and it lists the appropriate PPE and storage considerations to prevent accidents.
